Jonathan Grado

Yosemite has been on my list for awhile, at least for a day or two. Fortunately I was able to go there with a life-long friend of mine, Moreo Rivera. Some backstory: our dads went to kindergarten together - they waved to each other when their lines passed in the hallway and have been best friends ever since. Both of them got into music too, with my dad and Grado Labs and his dad being the saxophonist for Billy Joel.

What was it like photographing Yosemite?

Coming from Brooklyn, camping in Yosemite wasn't the same as sitting down and eating a slice of pizza. The hiking we did might've been a bit strenuous, but most definitely worth it. Seeing and photographing the Firefall at Horse Tail Falls was something else.

Also, the hiking community that I'm not at all a part of? They were pretty helpful and outgoing towards the new guy. Note: Although everything below is from Yosemite, those first two photos below are actually from the Rocky Mountains which were captured on my flight from Brooklyn to San Francisco. Had to put them somewhere.
