Austin Waffle House at Sunset

Austin Waffle House at Sunset
I’ve never knowingly been in the vicinity of a Waffle House.
Growing up in Brooklyn, all I knew were Domino’s, diners, and d-alliteration. Then I drive by my first one in Austin, glowing golden like the third waffle I'm about to eat on a Sunday morning. Then I drive by it enough times until I was like “alright, alright I’ll comeback at sunset”. Then I took too many photos of a Waffle House.
I drove there about an hour before golden hour, right after a storm had broke. This Waffle House sits on a grassy hill right off a highway, so it took a bit to find the best angle. I set up my tripod and tried three to four different Fujifilm lenses. I think I ended up liking the GF16-55mm the best. I also got lucky with a flock of birds circling the waffles.
One of these can be found in the photo series Provided You’re Still Here.
